For one month, from 29th April to 24th May 2009, the Uovo Performing Arts Festival aims to bring to Milan a new vanguard in performances of contemporary dance and it will present a new way of doing theatre, focusing our attention on several new projects. This seventh edition is filled with performances, installations, workshops and concerts that take place at different places in the city.

The artists, represent a multidisciplinary vision of the project and they come from all over Europe, including Mammalian Diving Reflex, Jérôme Bel, Francesca Grilli, Kinkaleri, Christina Kubisch, Lone Twin Theater, Roberto Paci Dalò / roof garden, etc.
It is an international exhibition of contemporary dance, electronic music, visual art, cinema, architecture and design that continues to find new developments each year. The theme of this year is the look: understood as a discovery or a point of view. The event starts the 29 of April with a performance of Italian artist Silvia Costa, her performance is made up of body images, and she converses with suggestions derived from the forms, places and events in order to create images that represent the entire complexity of her research work.
The various shows of Uovo will take place in: Teatro Versace, DiD studio, Teatro Franco Parenti, Teatro Out Off, the Triennale di Milano, Alcatraz, O’ and 3.14 Parruchieri. The event also counts on the return of artists that love the event such as Societas Raffaello Sanzio / Romeo Castellucci, that will present “Paradiso”, while for the first time in Italy there will be a British company Leon Twin Theatre, with the show “Daniel Hit by a Train”. “Haircuts by Children”aims to be very interesting and will be presented on 24th of May, in the 3.14 hairdressing salon, as the conclusion of the festival. It will be a very innovative performance, a project created by a Canadian company Mammalian Diving Reflex, are child hairstylists armed with scissors that will invite viewers to sit on chairs for a hair-cut.
An event of both research and innovation, the artists have focused mainly on two types of study; childhood and contemporary.
