Would you like to know more about Italy? Are you about to go on a trip, but you don’t know where to go and what to see yet? If so, you should start with its economical city: Milan, where there are a thousand things to see and do. It is also the capital of haute couture and the place where all the big designers have their creative atelier.

In Milan you can take a stroll around a famous place favored by tourists and locals. It is the refined, elegant and famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the most touristic places in the city, right in the centre. It goes from the majestic Duomo square to the exclusive Scala square. The first thing that catches your attention is the huge Arch of Triumph that characterizes it. The construction of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele dates back to 1861, when there was a contest to re-arrange the Duomo square.

Initially, the idea was to simply connect the two squares, but the architect Giuseppe Mengoni, who is responsible for its construction, presented a different project that we can still see today. His technique was not perfect, so the first paintings didn’t last very long, and new ones were placed just a few years later. Its floor is of exceptional beauty: a mosaic of images and decorative elements of great splendor. One typical attraction is the large bull on the left of the tunnel, where millions of tourists come every year to perform the ritual of luck, a practice known by all (apparently you place one of your heels on its genitals and turn yourself around).

This gallery deserves more than one visit, not only for its beauty but also because there are many shops to discover. People call it the “Hall of Milan” due to its central position, because of all the shops and restaurants like Biffi or Savini. All of them are very classy and elegant and attract both wealthy tourists and people from high society. Inside the gallery there are ancient and prestigious bookshops such as the famous Ricordi.

If you visit Milan, you must enjoy this pleasant and relaxing stroll, to admire the details of the gallery, go shopping or just to have a drink sitting at the table of one of its bars. In the summer, many shows and concerts of all kinds are organized there. Book your vacation now! Visit one of the most contemporary cities in Italy, rent apartments in Milan and admire its beautiful and historical Gallery.

The Milan International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair will take place on 27th March and promises to be better than last year's event. This year Miart has drafted in a specialist to redifine the Milan Art Fair concept.

The Milan International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair reaches its 14th edition with the ambition of acting as a crucial meeting point for Italian and international art. That is why the Milan fair, which for years has showcased the best Italian collections of the twentieth century, has searched for a specialist for the 2009 edition who will be responsible for redefining the concept of the show in order to position it better on a national as well as an international level.

MiArt will take place from 27th March to 30th March with the intention of presenting a notorious art scene. This will be a reference point for collectors, art curators, artists and directors of prestigious museums.

This year’s edition releases a comprehensive overview of the artistic world through three different artistic variations: Modern Art, Contemporary Art and “Anteprima”. The event brings together the most important collections of Italian and international art.

MiArt has turned itself into a necessary instrument to re-launch the art both of the city and the whole of Italy to the world. On the other hand, MiArt will be the union link between the citizens and Milan’s cultural and institutional area.

The Milan International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair organizes some exhibitions in different city locations. The first is based on a series of performances that take place during the Contemporary Art Day in Milan on October 4th. Various conferences will be held along with the best international art figures who will discuss the important cultural, architectural and historic heritage of Milan.

In addition, there will be a new publication that will help people to rediscover art in Milan. This initiative aims to put Milan at the core of Italian culture and economy. Only through collective dialogue Milan may resume the role it deserves in the cultural world. Therefore, MiArt will play a vital role in this new geography. The fair also aims to present parallel initiatives that try to show the changes that the modern art has lived through.

Travel to Italy and discover the best of modern art in MiArt, the International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair. Stay in apartments in Milan, to enjoy a pleasant stay in the city.

Milan is the design capital of the world. Many great designers such as Armani, Gucci, or Dolce & Gabbana choose it as their headquarters for displaying and selling their collections. This is a dynamic, elegant and cosmopolitan city that has a sublime heritage.

The main streets of Milan reserve their shop windows for major brands. If you leave these main streets, there are a multitude of outlets, which sell out of season clothes at economical prices. There are also many popular stores like H & M, Camper, Zara, etc.
Milan, as the design capital of the world, has one of the most prestigious design centres of Europe: the “Istituto Europeo di Design”. Twice a year (in spring and in autumn) on the famous “Fashion in Milan” is held. The Fashion in Milan is an event where some designers present their new collections.
But the city not only stands out for being the home of fashion, but for its fascinating works of art and monuments. Former Milan was governed by the Visconti and the Sforza families. They were patrons of some artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci or Bramante. Thus, its most important tourist attraction is Il Duomo, the vast Gothic cathedral crowned with 135 pinnacles and adorned with over 2,000 different statues.
Its highest tower holds the golden Madonina, the patron saint of the city.

But Milan is also known as the home of the Escala theatre: it is the largest Opera in the world. Here the works of Verdi, Rossini or Puccini are played. In addition, it has its own two philharmonic orchestras.

The Pazzo di Brera is another essential element of Milan’s “geography”: it is an art gallery, library, astronomical observatory and fine arts academy.

Milan is really a captivating city. You will be captivated by its magic and its cultural and leisure diversity. Rent Milan Apartments to enjoy the perfect holiday and have a great time there!
