The most exciting neigbourhoods can be found in the city center: the Brera district, the Navigli, the Ticinese. These are the areas with the highest concentration of bars. But in recent years other areas such as Porta Romana, Corso Lodi, Corso Buenos Aires, Corso Magenta, or Città Studi Fiera have seen an amazing increase of pubs, bars and other lively Milanese places.

Nights always begin with an “obligation”, ie a cocktail. In recent years this has become a social ritual for the Milanese people. Usually people meet their friends after work in bars in the area of Navigli and enjoy a cocktail while tasting delicious portions of food (usually on the house).

Every night the most famous nightclubs in Milan are filled with smartly dressed people, listening to hip-hop, house, RnB, Latino music and other famous hits from the 70’s -80’s and 90’s. The most popular ones in the city are: The Alcatraz, Anesthesia, Hollywood etc. Here you will find all sorts of audience: fashionable kids to men in elegant suits and ties. The discos are often divided into different areas, each one providing different kinds of music. This will allow you to dance to any sound you want.

Milan is the economic capital of Italy and the main centre of Italian fashion. Each year the Milan catwalk shows the best designs of the most prestigious designers from all over the world.

But Milan is not just a shopping city; it has also a bustling nightlife, with a wide range of bars and clubs to enjoy. It is also a city of art, culture and history. Milan is the home of some of the most important monuments of the Lombard region, such as the Duomo and the Teatro La Scala.

Sforzesco Castle

You shouldn’t miss the Sforzesco Castle. This building dates back to the time of Francesco Sforza (Galeazzo Sforza), but it is much older. It was built in the fourteenth century under the command of Galeazzo Visconti. Today the castle, along with the Duomo, is the greatest symbol of the city. Highly appreciated by its citizens, it is a symbol of culture and preserves evidence of Lombard art, although in the past it represented oppression and the power of the Milan lords.

There are various museums inside the castle: the Ancient Art Museum, with the Assi room, which was painted by one of the greatest Italian artists, Leonardo da Vinci; the Furniture Museum; the Museum of Prehistory and the Egyptian Museum.

The castle is open to the public from Monday to Sunday from 7:00 to 18:00 in winter and until 19:00 in summer.
